Summary

Rawlins Farm is seeking a committed and hardworking Equine Groom Apprentice to join their team. This opportunity is ideal for someone with previous yard experience, particularly in competition or dressage environments. The programme includes all general yard duties, riding opportunities, and involvement in preparing horses for competition.

£15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Both Level 2 Equine Groom and Level 3 Senior Equine Groom applicants will be considered, depending on experience.

  • Mucking out, sweeping, maintaining yard cleanliness
  • Bedding down, general stable care
  • Feeding, grooming and overall horse care
  • Tack cleaning and general equipment maintenance
  • Hacking
  • Assisting on competition days where required
  • Handing a fit and competition-ready horse confidently
  • Riding (confident rider)

Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

Training schedule

All training will be provided on-site during your paid working hours. Your day-to-day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in-person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach.

GCSE in:

Maths and English (grade 4 and Above)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
