Summary

We are seeking a UK NEQAS CPT Finance Assistant to support the Finance Coordinator and the wider Administrative team. This is an office-based role in our modern suite of offices based centrally in Newcastle, close to transport links. We are a small but friendly and supportive team. We value open communication, team spirit and a positive attitude.

Wage

£14,918.80 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

What you'll do at work

The Role

UK NEQAS CPT Finance Assistant duties include:

  • Create and issue invoices and credit notes
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records within Xero and Management System
  • Reconcile bank transactions
  • Process expenses claims
  • Data entry of participants' information onto computer systems
  • Updating spreadsheets and databases
  • Managing email correspondence, responding to participant queries in a timely manner
  • General administrative duties such as filing, scanning, photocopying, and answering the telephone

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
  • Record transactional data.

Training schedule

4 days per week at LabXcell. 

1 day per week at Newcastle College.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 3)
  • Maths (grade 3)
