Accountable to Sales Office Manager
- Assist the department with sales order processing
- Reception duties – phones – welcoming visits to site
- Administration duties
- Answering the phones to both internal and external customers
- Dealing with and responding to all sales and aftersales issues
- Contacting customers via the phone or e-mail systems
- Sample requests – collating, franking, and posting out of samples
You may need to carry out any other duties within the business as and when required. This list is not exhaustive and may be changed at any time to include other tasks. You may also, at times, be expected to cover for other members of the team, and therefore carry out some or all the tasks set in their job description.
Requirements and prospects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a positive enthusiastic attitude that demonstrates you are self-motivated and accountable.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work on their own initiative, manage their own time and priorities and will have the aptitude to be flexible and responsive to allow a wide range of skills to be developed during the apprenticeship program.
You will be incredibly keen and a fast learner, have a great willingness to learn and a natural passion for people and problem solving. Approachability is important, you should have excellent telephone mannerisms and be hungry to create a great impression of yourself and the department. You should have a full appreciation of the importance of servicing our ‘Internal and External Customers’ and be capable of working on your own as well as with others.
Applicant must have GCSE Grade C/4 or above or Functional Skills Level 2 in both maths and English Language.

Things to consider
Due to funding requirements, there are specific candidate criteria that apply to this apprenticeship opportunity. For us to offer this vacancy, we must be able to draw down full government funding for the position. As such, candidates aged 16 - 18 will be eligible to apply for this vacancy. You must be willing to undertake training from Dudley College – who will visit you in the workplace re your coursework.
Driving licence would be an advantage, but not essential

Customer Services Practitioner Level 2 Standard.
Full training will be provided on an ongoing daily basis and when required. You will be working towards a NVQ qualification. An assessor will be allocated to you to progress/help you through you course. Continual assessment for NVQ’s coupled with assignments/or exams depending on course of study. Time spent training will be part of the agreed contracted hours of the working week.
No college attendance is required, course work will be delivered in the workplace.
