Alloyed uses modern technologies like computational optimisation and 3D printing to create the future of alloys. As a laboratory technician apprentice, you will play a key role in the development of safer medical implants, stronger aircraft components, lighter wearable electronics, cheaper rocket engines, etc. The apprentice will get the chance to earn and learn while working alongside highly skilled technicians, engineers, and scientists. You will be offered full training on the operation of machines and the laboratory procedures.
Your role will cover:
- Producing alloy samples
- Performing heat treatments
- Testing of mechanical properties
- Sectioning of samples and parts
- Investigating the alloys with microscopes
- You will operate the equipment and participate in maintenance operations when required
- You will also be given the opportunity to participate in the improvement of the procedures and equipment to make the laboratory more efficient

Desired qualifications
In order to apply for this apprenticeship, you must have GCSE grades of C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English, Maths, and either Physics or Chemistry. This is essential.
