During your time at Isocom as a Lean Manufacturing Operative Apprentice you can expect to work within the engineering and production areas.
Your main duties include:
- Work alongside the Technical Manager to gain experience and knowledge of electronic equipment and projects
- Working with our Design Engineers to build and test prototypes of new products
- Supporting the preparation of component test programmes
- Maintaining and supporting the production machinery, jigs and tooling
- Participate in component assembling in clean room as required
- Participate in internal projects
- Ensure quality, housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained, and at AS9100 quality standards for aerospace and space applications at all times
- Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with the Company’s H&S policy
- Use all PPE as instructed
- Maintain a safe working environment at all times
- Report any serious malfunctions or risks to Supervisor
Requirements and prospects
Desired skills
- Some technical knowledge and understanding of electronics
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow technical instructions
- Good communication and writing skills
- Ability to fully document work for quality control purposes
Personal qualities
- A genuine interest in electronics
- Good dexterity and eye to hand co-ordination
- Experience of working with micro sized objects such as computer circuits, model making, sewing/embroidery or similar style hobbies
- Enthusiastic with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
- Punctual and reliable with excellent timekeeping skills
- Adaptable
Desired qualifications
- Minimum GCSE’s 9-3, A*-D or equivalent

- Potential for full time employment
Things to consider
- Employee’s will be expected to work within a Clean Room facility wearing PPE at all times
- Employee’s will be required to use microscopic equipment to manufacture the products
