A quality kitchen experience has positive benefits on the physical and mental wellbeing of our residents and so you will learn:
- Day to day management of the main kitchen
- Preparation of all meals as laid out in the menus diet sheets
- Carry out the ordering of food and other goods and the implementation and control mechanisms of the stock ordering system
- Record keeping as stated in the Food Hygiene Manual
- Cook and oversee preparation of all foods. All products used are fresh and organic, using whole foods where possible, with a strong emphasis on healthy eating. A good awareness of food intolerances and specialist dietary needs is essential.
- Ensuring that the hygiene standards within the kitchen meet local environmental health department requirements
- Ensuring that the policies set out in the Food Hygiene Manual are adhered to
- Ensure the wellbeing and safekeeping of all kitchen equipment and utensils
- Take responsibility for the reporting of any maintenance requirements and faults using correct procedures
- Knowledge of C.O.S.H.H regulations and the whereabouts of all C.O.S.H.H data / information sheets
- Comply with group organisational standards, policies and procedures
- Report any defects, damage, theft, breakages or hazards
- Attend fire evacuation and instruction sessions twice a year
- Respect the confidentiality and individuality of service users

4 GCSEs at grades A*-D/9-3 (or equivalent) including maths and English.
Candidates who have not attended an Apprenticeship Interview at LMC prior to Interview must achieve at least a Level 1 on the Initial Assessment to be complete prior to enrolment.
