Carlo Salvi UK Ltd are a wholly owned subsidiary of Carlo Salvi SpA of Italy, who are a manufacturer of high speed cold and warm forging machinery supplying automotive, electronics, fastener and aerospace industries amongst others. Carlo Salvi SpA in turn part of the Hatebur group who are a Swiss family owed company manufacturing both cold and hot forging equipment.

Duties include:

  • To learn all aspects of engineering through a programme with MCMT and on site/off site working with Carlo Salvi UK Ltd and its customers
  • The main requirements of the role will be to carry out installation, repair and training of Carlo Salvi machines and other allied equipment
  • To understand the machines and liaise with customers on their requirements including machines, machine parts, tooling and assist with design
  • To assist the both the sales and engineering function including visits to customer sites, suppliers and possible overseas visits

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Main requirement must be a positive attitude and customer service approach with attention to detail 
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering preferred
  • Analytical mind, likes problem solving
  • Ideally, full driving UK licence 
  • Ideally, own transport 
  • Full passport for overseas travel without restriction
  • Experience of working in an engineering environment would be advantageous

Personal qualities

  • Willingness to learn and progress
  • Prepared to travel at reasonable notice, no fear of flying
  • Physically able to carry out tasks as required on site and off site
  • Flexible approach to work, no restriction to on–site working or being away from home overnight for periods of up to one week
  • Smart appearance
  • Ability to work outside core hours to suit customer demand
  • There will be a large amount of customer contact therefore a polite manner and customer focused approach are essential

Desired qualifications

  • Maths, English and ICT GCSE (or equivalent) - grades C+ (5) or above

Things to consider

First part – 3 days per week at MCMT training centre in Telford & 2 days at company for 30 months.

Second part – 1 day per week at MCMT training centre in Telford & 4 days at company for 30 months, plus monthly visits to company by an Assessor.

Good personal references to establish character is a must.
