To work in the very busy Spares Division, joining an existing team where you will be required to answer mainly email-based, enquiries and purchase orders from worldwide customers and agents.
Have self-confidence to liaise internally with several departments, quoting and order processing, handling internal and external calls, working to weekly and monthly targets, chasing outstanding quotations and having the ability to self-manage an incredibly high workload.
Knowledge of the marine industry is not essential as full, on-going training and support will be given, but managing your own workload and time effectively and productively is crucial.
To manage a busy group/individual inbox, submit quotes, process purchase orders, self-manage your own workload, answer incoming phone calls as and when necessary, liaise with Technical Dept., Despatch Dept., and Production Department regularly. Attend Internal Training sessions as and when required.
Working relationships with the Country Managers, Technical, Despatch and Production Teams are crucial. You will report to the Spares Division Manager and have a positive working relationship with the existing Spares Division Team Members. To be personable, confident, and eager to learn and succeed.
To work from a group Inbox as well as a personal inbox but self-manage both by constantly communicating with the Team regarding what is being/has been picked up. To check pricing structures with Spares Division Manager and/or Country Managers.

Desired skills
- Computer literate, with knowledge of Microsoft Office packages e.g. Word, Excel, email required
- Experience of using SAP would be an advantage, but training will be given
- Sales experience and experience of the marine industry advantageous but not essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to work as an excellent team player
- Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to manage time and workloads with good focus on priorities
Desired qualifications
GCSEs at grades C/4 or above (or equivalent) in maths and English.

An apprenticeship allows you to earn a wage, gain valuable work experience and industry specific competence. You will be expected to work towards an Level 3 Business Administrator, with support from your employer and the Chesterfield College Group.
The Level 3 Business Administrator Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:
- A mixture of face to face and remote visits every 4 - 6 weeks
- On the job training with a designated mentor
- Reviews every 6 - 8 weeks with your work-based tutor and line manager/mentor
- Feedback sessions to discuss progress
- End-Point Assessment (EPA)
As part of your apprenticeship and dependent on your prior attainment you may be required to complete maths and English Functional Skills (dependent upon your GCSE grades) which is an integral part of your apprenticeship. Upon successful completion you will be awarded an additional certificate of recognition for these qualifications.
