Duties will include:

  • Post – ability to open and scan all post and place in the correct clients file on the computer as well as ability to write letters to providers/clients and other external businesses to be posted. Ability to use initiative to ascertain if any action is required on receipt of certain documentation
  • Phone – excellent communication skills via the telephone. Calls to and from clients (existing and prospects), providers and external businesses. The ability to use initiative e.g. if someone’s line is busy try to help the person calling yourself
  • Greeting clients – polite, friendly, approachable. Ability to greet clients with a smile, offer a drink and make conversation. This role is vital as applicant will be the face of the business as soon as clients walk through the door and the first impression for new clients
  • Meetings – be able to book meetings in the diary and keep on top of making sure there are no cross overs with meetings
  • Portfolio reviews – added to the role after time and training. The ability to complete smaller portfolio reviews and post them out to clients/arrange meetings. This will involve using Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel and therefore the applicant will ideally be proficient on these applications

  • Organisation- ability to organise adviser diaries with meetings that are booked
  • Verbal & Written communication- verbal communication is vital and this includes how clearly you are talking to clients and the tone used. Written communication is just as important and requires perfect spelling and grammar and excellent attention to detail to be able to identify any errors
  • Attitude – The right candidate will be enthusiastic, approachable, positive, and friendly. The attitude of staff members is everything in this role which requires a strong work ethic with the ability to work independently using their own initiative as well as in a team
  • Passion – this links to attitude and work ethic however this involves the opportunity to progress. There are a number of progression routes and further qualifications and progression are available for the right candidate

Future prospects

  • Upon completion of the apprenticeship, the learner may be offered permanent employment
