Floorstore group are looking for an apprentice to join the team at head office located near Pontefract Lane, Leeds. Floorstore are a Leeds based family owned flooring company with multiple retail outlets, online business and trade arm that have been a leader in the flooring space since 1961.

Wage

£14,526.20 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Key tasks include:

  • Processing orders via the Company system as they come in
  • Responsible for logging, keying, tracking stock
  • Identify and reduce unallocated stock
  • Type any correspondence including letters
  • Liaising with fitters, site contacts, sales teams and customer service
  • Arranging fitting appointments and work with live fitting diary
  • Assist with booking in on computer system and warehouse deliveries
  • Assist with the Central Distribution transfers and allocations of stock to customer orders
  • Point of contact for incoming calls
  • Ensure completion notes are received on time and properly documented with completed forms from fitters for invoice purposes

The role will provide the candidate with the below additional learning:

  • Opportunity to work off plans from scaled drawings
  • Gaining knowledge on flooring products and understanding floor fitting procedures
  • Learning Health & Safety procedures

  • Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
  • Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate patience and calmness.
  • Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
  • Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
  • Maintain informative communication during service recovery.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 9-4)
  • Maths (grade 9-4)
