Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Installing and fixing industrial equipment like pumps, motors, and pipes
- Carrying out welding, oxy-acetylene cutting & burning
- Maintaining pneumatic systems and airlines
- Reporting on system performance and issues
- Installing equipment according to specifications
- Investigating equipment failures and suggesting improvements
- Supporting the Maintenance Manager in planning outages, providing a priority list for maintenance, procurement of parts and equipment necessary
