Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Key Responsibilities:

Have a good level of understanding in general construction.
Responsible for being the point of contact between workers.
Coordinating tasks for the day including but not limited to creating schedules for workers.
Activities on site are in line with health and safety procedures including conducting Toolbox talk.
Ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget by setting benchmarks, agreeing budgets and monitoring progress.

Key Skills Required:

Have exceptional written and spoken English.
IT literate and can learn to use the latest cloud software products for health safety and construction management.
Be highly self-motivated.
Have exceptional attention to detail and a right first-time attitude.

What you'll learn

Course contents

Identify risk of activities and encourage all employees to demonstrate safety-conscious behaviours.
Assess, identify and record the environmental impact of projects.
Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects.
Use effective management principles and be able to supervise construction workers.
Understand overall plan for project and measure and record progress against plan.
Assess and report on quality standards and assist in commissioning of finished construction projects.
Understand financial and legal constraints and measure and record progress against budget.
