Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Service, test, and install the appropriate pipework and fire suppression systems; disassemble and reconstruct equipment
  • Perform servicing/testing and repairs on systems and equipment in accordance with relevant standards and specifications
  • Install systems and equipment based on relevant fabrication drawings and specifications
  • Accurately complete engineering work reports, handover certificates, and pressure test certificates or checklists as required
  • You will learn how to work on sprinklers, pipework, valve sets, pump equipment and other fire safety equipment

  • Engage in day release training and receive on-the-job guidance from experienced mentors and engineers

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade Grade 5)
  • Maths (grade Grade 5)

Other in:

Full UK Driving License (grade Full)

  • This thrilling opportunity is field-based, meaning that you will work alongside our highly skilled engineers, traveling between our clients’ sites each day
  • You will be covering all the midlands and potentially further afield into the South West
  • You will be required to work away and stay over in hotels regularly
  • Our work may also require heavy lifting and working from heights
