We are looking for someone to play and care for the children aged 2-5. Setting up age appropriate activities, clearing up after messy play or snack times etc. You will be working alongside two other staff and two management staff who are room based. We are a very friendly team!

What you will do in your working day

  • Keeping a record of the children’s progress to share with parents and other carers
  • Building and maintaining relationships with parents and other carers to facilitate the daily learning and care of the children
  • Providing support to other nursery staff members
  • Creating an environment that meets the needs of the children by considering their cultural and medical needs
  • Advising the Nursery Manager about concerns relating to a child or parent while respecting confidentiality requirements
  • Adhering to the nursery’s policies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements relating to childcare
  • Maintaining high standards for safety, cleanliness, and hygiene
  • Creating fun and educational activities for the children under their care

The training you will be getting

Working towards completing Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard. Work based learning with ad hoc workshops at Hertford Regional College.

Things to consider

On-line training may take place at weekends however sessions will be no longer than 2 hours. 2 References will be required.

About the employer

The nursery is managed by 2 business partner's who are currently included in the ratio. We plan activities each week, do a monthly theme, go on outings, lots of outdoor learning and fun! We have two playrooms, a separate sleep room, a spare classroom, and outdoor space. We are registered for 6 under 1’s and 15 over 2’s. the whole building is registered for 30 children maximum.
