What will the apprentice be doing?

You will receive training to enable you to carry out the following duties:

  • Measuring and classifying all raw materials in preparation for  production
  • Monitoring the production process
  • Feeding the raw materials into the machinery
  • Operating the production machinery as required, such as lifting equipment
  • Performing quality assurance and testing checks
  • Packing, and labelling the finished goods in preparation for shipment
  • Cleaning the machinery and other parts of the production space
  • Maintaining work areas and equipment

You will be required to lift 25kg sacks of product through the correct manual handling procedures, training will be given.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Working towards gaining the skills, knowledge and behaviours to gain the Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative Apprentice Standard;

Lean manufacturing operative / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education

You will be required to attend one day a week day release at the London Road Campus and the remainder will be in the workplace.

Maths and English functional skills if required.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Permanent positon for right candidate on completion of the apprenticeship.
