What will the apprentice be doing?
The Forest Academy is on an exciting journey, and we are looking for a teaching assistant apprentice who is committed to making a difference to the lives of our students.
We are seeking to recruit a passionate, reliable and empathetic teaching assistant apprentice to work within a highly successful SEND Provision. The successful candidate would have the opportunity to work collaboratively within mainstream and/or our very successful ASD provision (BCS) to improve the outcomes of SEND students.
Duties will be varied, including, for example:
- Support SEND students within lessons
- Work collaboratively within mainstream and our very successful ASD provision BCS to support students
- To work with and support individuals and small groups of students on activities and within interventions
- To establish supportive relationships with the students
- Supervising students at break and lunch times on a rota basis
- Assist the department in the preparation and maintenance of classroom and corridor displays
- Support with transition times for students including beginning and end of the day
- To support with general administration
The above mentioned duties are neither exclusive nor exhaustive, duties and responsibilities of the post may change as requirements and circumstances change. The post holder may be required to carry out such other duties as requested by management that are broadly within the level of the post.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Candidate will recieve a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard upon succesful completion of the apprenticeship.
- Day release at New City College Ardleigh Green campus (RM11 2LL)
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Potential full-time role upon succesful completion of the apprenticeship depending on needs of the organisation at the time.
