The Apprentice will be key in the design of engine driven (FEAD) compressor mounting kits and accessories, and involvement in running a project from concept through to testing and manufacture, incorporating a high focus on quality and demonstrating this through approach to workload. What will the apprentice be doing?

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Produce engineering designs, 3D models, and assemblies using Solidworks software
  • Creating detailed manufacturing drawings to the latest GD&T specifications
  • Project management
  • Problem Solving
  • Compiling BOM’s
  • Assisting in the creation of fitting instructions for the products you design

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard.

  • You will be learning the skills, knowledge, and behaviours to achieve the Prototype/Design pathway within course
  • This will be delivered as 3 days in college (during term-time) and then the remainder of the working week will be in the workplace

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

On successful completion of the Apprenticeship, we would look to fully employ the candidate as a Design and Development Engineer.
