    Monday to Friday between 7.30am and 6pm as per a rota (exact times TBD). 30 hours per week inclusive of off-the-job training. You may be asked to work extra at times to cover leave/sickness of other staff.

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Supporting children within their play
  • Setting up activities
  • Helping to tidy up
  • Undertaking children's care routines including changing nappies, feeding etc.

  • Safeguarding the children at all times 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Early Years Educator level 3 Apprenticeship 
  • Paediatric First Aid

In the workplace you will have access to Noodle for online training, there are lots of related courses on this. You will have a workplace mentor who will support you day-to-day. 

You will have a college instructor-mentor who will be in regular contact with you and will visit you in the workplace to complete observations, and professional discussions and give constructive feedback. You will attend college every 6 weeks for an activity day with other Early Years apprentices. 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

There is potential for permanent employment on the successful completion of your apprenticeship, dependant on nursery circumstances at the time.

Things to consider

We are located rurally with very limited bus service so lifts would probably be needed to and from the setting. Uniform is provided (polo shirt, fleece and coat) but the applicant must provide their own trousers/leggings in black and sensible footwear. Part of each day is spent outdoors.
