What will the apprentice be doing?
Working as an Apprentice Teaching Assistant, you will
- Provide support to teachers in preparing for lessons
- Help to create a safe and enjoyable learning environment for all pupils
- You will work together with the class teacher to support pupils with classroom activities during lesson
- Help to manage behaviour
- You will support all areas of the curriculum including maths, English & ICT
- Assist with delivering interventions to individuals or small groups of pupils
- Accompanying teaching staff and pupils on trips and out-of-school activities
You will also act as a role model for pupils and be a positive influence on their behaviour and performance at school. So, it’s important that you demonstrate maturity and excellence in all you do.
It will also be important to promote the ethos of the school at every opportunity.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship level 3 Apprenticeship.
You will attend college every six weeks for a group session with your assessor mentor, you will have assessments in the workplace and complete off-the-job training.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
There is potential for permanent employment with Churnet View, or the wider Talentum Trust, on the successful completion of your apprenticeship.
