What will the apprentice be doing?
Working at a start of the art facilty in Thorne, you will be part of a technical team completing the below and many more duties:
- Rectify vehicle faults as indicated on each job card in accordance with manufactures guidelines, by using the correct and orderly diagnostic procedures where to locate faulty components
- Ensure all displacement parts renewed under warranty follow the warranty procedure and specifications and also acknowledge receipt of such items when returning
- Maintain and upkeep all workshop tools and equipment
- Renew defective components as per manufactures guidelines
- Document thoroughly on job card, process required to rectify any defects, record all test reading and indicate clearly defective component identified
- Ensure Health & Safety Law, Company Policy and Safe Working Practices are adhered to by yourself
- Ensure local working environment is maintained to a clean tidy and safe area
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
During the 36 month apprenticeship you will work to achieve Level 3 Vehicle Body and Paint Apprenticeship qualification, this will include the following:
- Level 3 Diploma in Vehicle Accident Repair (Body or Paint) Principles (VRQ)
- Level 3 Diploma in Vehicle Accident Repair (Body or Paint) Competence (VCQ)
- A week of team building at Plas Menai outward bound centre
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
By the end of our Apprenticeship, you will have developed the professional knowledge combined with the skills and behaviours to become a Paint or Panel Technician. With the potential to become a Team Leader.
