VQ Solutions are looking for a hard-working individual to join the team at Structured Networks as a Network Cable Installer Apprentice. This is a varied role within a growing industry where no 2 days are ever the same. You will be guided throughout this apprenticeship by experienced engineers.

What will the apprentice be doing?

The role would be to shadow senior engineers in the installation of cabling and containment to facilitate in all different building types such as offices, army barracks and prisons.

The right applicant need not have any experienced but be motivated to learn with the right attitude. The role will initially include lots of onsite training via shadowing, building up experience.

Duties will include:

  • Installing copper cabling
  • Installing fibre cabling
  • Fluke testing
  • Install network equipment in cabinets
  • Carry out maintenance

There will also be elements of working away from home and unsociable hours so this must be something that the applicant is willing to undertake.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will work towards a Level 3 Network Cable Installer Apprenticeship delivered by VQ Solutions. 

During this apprenticeship, you will develop a portfolio, attend block courses and have regular reviews. All apprenticeship work will be completed during working hours.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

The majority of our apprentices are offered full-time employment upon the successful completion of their apprenticeship.

Things to consider
