What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Picking from pick sheets

  • Double checking the work of others, to ensure accuracy

  • Loading and unloading lorries as and when needed

  • Making sure orders are correct and ready to send out

  • Full forklift truck training to the correct applicant

  • Loading & Unloading pallets and stock across the warehouse

  • Other general duties including keeping the warehouse clean and tidy to help avoid risk to yourself and to others

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Full level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative apprenticeship standard, including Functional Skills if required.

This is a work based programme which means that all of your learning will take place on the site of your employment and within your contracted working hours. We host supporting workshops regularly throughout the apprenticeship which you can attend in person at our Derby Road campus or virtually via Microsoft Teams.

You will work with expert assessors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the supply chain profession.

You will gather all learning evidence, journals and off-the-job records using your e-portfolio (OneFile).

You will work on assignments, projects and tasks that help you to understand the profession you have chosen, and to gain professional competency within your role.

At the end of the planned learning period, you along with your employer and training provider will agree that you have completed all learning elements and are ready to enter 'Gateway' and for your End Point Assessment to be arranged.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

The completion of this apprenticeship could lead to further training at a higher level to ensure your skills are maintained throughout your career.
