What will the apprentice be doing?
Job Purpose:
· To provide general administrative support to the Trust’s Core Services team in its delivery to academies, along with handling front line enquiries and welcoming visitors to the office.
Principal Accountabilities:
· To welcome visitors to the Trust Core Services Team, ensuring signing in and safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
· To manage phone calls and emails received into the Trust’s central contact points and to coordinate messages and actions with appropriate contacts as and when appropriate
· To provide a professional and confidential administration service for the Core Service Team including word processing of correspondence, reports, publications and other documents as required.
· To operate as a Data Protection Champion for the Trust, ensuring to comply with GDPR and data protection rules and procedures at all times.
· To sort, distribute and administer incoming and outgoing mail.
· To be responsible for ordering office resources as required inclusive of stationary, and refreshments supplies.
· To assist with the administration of electronic and manual staff records, including the completion of identification cards, maintaining the utmost confidentiality at all times.
· To organise all arrangements for meetings, training courses and conferences as required.
· To assist with the scheduling and organisation of Core Service Team events, meetings and diary appointments and liaising with the staff to follow up on external and internal communications.
· To communicate at a consistently high standard, across all platforms, such as the Trust website, texts, phone calls, letters, social media and other appropriate methods.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The apprenticeship will be with Cornwall College, at the base most suitable to the successful candidate. The apprenticeship course is Business Administrator Level 3. It is anticipated that it will be a day release course one day per week.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Once completed there will be options to progress your career within the Trust, whether that is remaining in the Core Service Team or potentially, if a suitable position becomes available in one of our academies.
