What will the apprentice be doing?
The apprentice will be working directly with the founder of Blacklion Management Services. Work will vary tremendously across the full spectrum of Information Communications Technology infrastructure architecture and design. Day-to-day tasks will range from
- contributing to high-level enterprise architecture
- contributing to systems design (high-level design documents)
- contributing to customer presentations (PPT)
- technical support for smart-home technology
- technical demonstrations and "proofs-of-concept"
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will be earning a Level 3 diploma as an IT Solutions Technician
IT Solutions Technicians develop, implement and
maintain complete IT Solutions, including; servers,
networks, operating systems, middleware and
applications.
Core skills include; requirements gathering, solution
development, testing, implementation and support. This
can be in both traditional or modern ‘DevOps’ style
teams.
You'll be training online with a small number of in-person training days over a mix of one-day-per-week and occasional block release.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Following this apprenticeship, you'll be able to either progress into a hands-on technical role or continue your training as a solutions architect.
