    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Meet and greet clients
  • Keep the salon and your station clean and tidy
  • Work on creating your own client column using your current skill set and work towards attaining L3 Advanced hair apprenticeship
  • Take bookings and payments
  • Assist stylists when needed

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Full Level 3 Advanced and Creative Hair Professional apprenticeship standard, including Functional Skills if required.

This programme includes the Advanced and Creative Hair Professionals Diploma at level 3.

This programme requires you to attend our Derby Road campus in Mansfield on a weekly basis during term time. This programme is delivered using a day release model.

You will work with expert assessors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession.

You will experience a blended learning model.

You will gather learning evidence, journals and off-the-job records using your e-portfolio.

At the end of the planned learning period, it will be agreed that you are ready to enter 'Gateway' and for your End Point Assessment to be arranged.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Progression upon completion of this apprenticeship would be to be full time within the business or to have the opportunity to rent a chair with your established column of clients.

About the employer

The salon has been in business for over twenty years and in 2020 it was taken over by a new salon owner. The salon has a mixed age range of clients and covers all aspects of hairdressing. They also offer gents hair cuts. They are currently working with Layton House and Affinage products.
