Trust Precision Engineering Ltd are looking to take on 3 new apprentices to be part of the apprenticeship programme and be trained as CNC Machinists with ongoing support and scope to progress to higher level apprenticeships in the future.

What will the apprentice be doing?
Multi-disciplined engineer for production of medium to high volume complex components for (predominantly) the Aerospace industry.
• Set & Operate bar fed CNC Sliding Head twin spindle machine tools
• Program & Set multi-sensor CNC inspection equipment
• CNC program development using CAD/CAM systems
• In process inspections
• Offset adjustment
• Tip changing
• Tool setting
• Machine set-up
• CNC program editing for cutting and inspection equipment
• Inspection equipment programming
• CNC programming (basic)
• CAD/CAM programming
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 3Engineering Technician apprenticeship standard, including Functional Skills if required.
This programme includes the Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Diploma Machinist Development Competence L3
This programme includes the Machining (Foundation Knowledge) Diploma L2.
This programme is delivered on a day release delivery model, you will attend our engineering innovation centre on one day per week in term time to further develop you theoretical and practical skills.
You will work with expert assessors and tutors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession.
You will experience a blended learning model.
You will gather learning evidence, journals and off-the-job records using your e-portfolio.
At the end of the planned learning period, it will be agreed that you are ready to enter 'Gateway' and for your End Point Assessment to be arranged.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
In the future, the employer would like to help you to maintain your levels of knowledge and skill. They may use various training methods to do this including higher level apprenticeship programmes.
