What will the apprentice be doing?

The apprentice will provide assistance and support to other members of the team to assist with the smooth running of the surgery.  You will be responsible for the prompt and efficient answering of the telephone and initial greeting of clients. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and tidiness in reception and front of house area. Initial greeting of clients on arrival. Accurately use the practice management system in order to arrange appointments & other tasks

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 Customer Service Specialist apprenticeship standard, which includes:

Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
Full, on-the-job training will be provided by the employer, with 20% off the job training as a requirement
End-Point Assessment (EPA)

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Great prospects for progression to a permanent receptionist role for the right candidate. Possibility to move onto other roles within the surgery.

Things to consider

This apprenticeship wage is above the NMW for apprentices and will be monitored on a regular basis where the apprentice is progressing within the role. The apprentice will be expected to work alternate shifts, so please check the working hours before applying
