What will the apprentice be doing?
Cross Gates and District Good Neighbours’ Scheme CIO (CDGNS) works to reduce social isolation, promote well-being and support independent living for older people within our area.
Purpose of the job:
To help provide administrative support within in the office and groups, required for CDGNS to achieve its objectives and mission.
Key Tasks:
To undertake an apprenticeship in Business Administration, undertaking assignments and attending college as required
To be the first point for visitors, ensuring that they are directed to the correct place and queries answered. Answering calls and taking messages, responding to emails and ensuring they are direct to the relevant team member
To work with volunteers on reception to support them in ensuring that they can work effectively
To assist the Office Manager to maintain the scheme’s database, to ensure it is accurate and up to date. Entering membership information and referrals to ensure members are supported in living independently
To assist the Transport Coordinator in booking events and administrating members bookings, ensuring the database is updated with those would attending
To support the Group Support Worker in the preparation and running of groups, to ensure they meet members needs and expectations and accurate records are kept

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
As a Business Administration Apprentice, you will complete the following qualification as part of your Apprenticeship:
Level 3 Business Administrator Standard Apprenticeship
Level 2 Functional Skills maths and English if not already achieved
You will also develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to work within an office environment
This apprenticeship is delivered in the workplace and 20% of your working time will be dedicated towards training and learning new skills. You will be allocated a tutor who will provide you with support and assessments at pre-arranged times.
Assessment is through a variety of methods including observations in the workplace, witness testimonies, product evidence and professional discussions. All evidence will be logged to your electronic portfolio.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Great opportunity for progression to a full time position for the right candidate (subject to funding).
