What will the apprentice be doing?
Placed within our Primary Education Department, apprentices will study the Sport Coaching Level 4 apprenticeship qualification and will work alongside experienced delivery staff to delivery high quality physical education in primary schools across Shropshire.
As an apprentice your role will include:
Working alongside our Primary Education Managers & Coordinators to deliver a range of Community activities and initiatives.
Assisting lead coaches on Shrewsbury Town Foundation courses, including but not limited to: Soccer Schools, Multi Sports and Holiday Activity and Food Programmes.
Supporting the operational activity and delivery of the Realising Potential, Achieving Goals, Changing Lives Strategy 2019-2023.
Carrying out administrative duties as necessary e.g., maintain accurate attendance registers; monitor and evaluate assessment of coaching sessions and carry out risk assessment of activities.
Ensuring that the safety of participants, volunteers and staff is prioritised at all times.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Sports Coach higher standard.
You will have a range of training delivered through your apprenticeship with SCL Professional including:

Webinars/virtual classrooms
Assignment and project work
1-2-1 on site teaching and learning
Mentoring
Masterclasses and talks
Workshops
Additional training and support relevant to your apprenticeship will be delivered by Shrewsbury Town FC
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
On successful completion of this apprenticeship, you may be offered a permanent contract of employment or the opportunity to progress onto a higher level apprenticeship programme.
