This role is based on site and in the office, using setting out equipment and design software, while also learning to manage the package on site including costings and staff. Further tasks may include:
1. Assisting Engineers – Support senior engineers with daily engineering tasks, projects, and technical activities.
2. Learning Engineering Procedures – Understand engineering drawings, specifications, technical standards, and company procedures.
3. Equipment Operation – Assist with the operation, inspection, and basic maintenance of engineering tools, machines, and equipment under supervision.
4. Technical Documentation – Prepare and update reports, maintenance records, work instructions, and other engineering documents.
5. Health and Safety Compliance – Follow workplace health and safety rules, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and report hazards.
6. Inspection and Quality Control – Assist in checking materials, components, equipment, and completed work to ensure they meet required standards.
7. Troubleshooting – Help identify technical faults and learn how to diagnose and resolve engineering problems under supervision.
8. Practical Training – Participate in on-the-job training, workshops, and technical learning activities to develop engineering skills.
9. Teamwork and Communication – Work effectively with engineers, technicians, supervisors, and other team members.
10. Project Assistance – Support engineering projects by preparing materials, collecting technical data, monitoring progress, and completing assigned tasks.
11. Housekeeping – Keep the workshop, tools, equipment, and work areas clean, organised, and safe.
