Summary

Join Basketdrop Ltd as an Executive Assistant Apprentice and launch your career in business development. You will work closely with our leadership team. You will learn to manage high-level schedules, coordinate key projects, and master office operations while earning a formal qualification.

Wage

£14,560 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices

  • Salary will be reviewed every 6 months with structured increases based on training completion and performance milestones.
  • If the apprentice is aged 19+ upon entering Year 2, pay is guaranteed to rise to the full statutory National Minimum Wage for their age band.

Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00 pm (includes one hour for lunch and dedicated off-the-job training time). Weekend work will be dependent on client deadline demands.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Managing executive diaries by scheduling internal and external meetings.
  • Handling incoming communications, prioritising urgent emails, and screening phone calls.
  • Preparing essential business documents, presentation decks, and meeting agendas.
  • Recording accurate minutes during key leadership meetings and tracking action items.
  • Coordinating travel arrangements, accommodation, and itineraries for senior staff.
  • Welcoming high-profile visitors and acting as a professional point of contact.
  • Assisting with the planning, setup, and logistics of corporate events.
  • Supporting cross-departmental projects and researching background information for briefs.

Where you'll work

  • Hybrid Working & Office Flexibility: This role offers hybrid working arrangements, combining remote work.
  • While the apprenticeship is open to applicants across England, the position involves close collaboration with our cross-border operations, including international travel links to China and the United States.
  • Travel Support: Assistance and expenses provided for required collaborative meet-ups.

Training

Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Receive, retrieve, process, record and store information and data.
  • Operate within organisational policies, standards and procedures and relevant legislation respecting confidentiality; adapting to operational changes as they occur.
  • Use software packages and tools for example AI or automation to input and process data and information, to contribute to routine administration tasks in line with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Handle and communicate information in line with organisational policies, procedures and security requirements.
  • Recognise and rectify issues and escalate as required. For example stakeholder documents and reports, safeguarding concerns or abusive behaviour.
  • Plan and review administration tasks allocated by supervisor.
  • Maintain professional relationships with stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on the use of resources such as materials, equipment and supplies.
  • Use agreed organisational systems and protocols to manage calendars, diaries and booking systems.
  • Source information as requested by stakeholders, ensuring they are shareable. As examples client records, signpost to services or reports.
  • Use continuing professional development including self-reflection to support current and future training and development needs.
  • Use communication tools to respond to stakeholders using professional language and organisational etiquette.
  • Operate within agreed health and safety standards.
  • Use time management tools to meet deadlines.
  • Handle feedback following expected professional etiquette.
  • Maintain wellbeing, accessing organisational support mechanisms if required.

  • Protect against security threats for example, strong passwords, two step verification, office tailgating and display of security passes or clothing that identifies secure workplaces.
  • Seek clarification and help, when required, to complete assigned tasks within agreed timeframes.

Training schedule

  • Training will be delivered primarily at Basketdrop Ltd, with no requirement to travel to a college campus.
  • The training will be structured as blended learning, combining practical on-the-job experience with regular remote tutor support.
  • Off-the-job training will follow the time allocations outlined in the Occupational Standard.
  • Progress reviews will take place at the workplace every 6 to 8 weeks with your assigned CMS Vocational Training coach.

  • Training is provided by CMS Vocational Training Ltd, an established, Ofsted-rated "strong" national provider with over 40 years of experience.
  • The training program is fully supported through a dedicated online portfolio system, interactive virtual learning sessions, and one-to-one mentor guidance.
  • A dedicated CMS tutor will be assigned to guide you step-by-step through portfolio building, workplace assessments, and complete preparation for your End-Point Assessment (EPA).
