A great opportunity for someone who is keen to get into the pharmaceutical industry. As an apprentice, you will learn to be the first point of contact for our customers. Whether or not they need healthcare advice as well as prescription dispensing, we will train you to provide the excellent customer service that we offer.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at the pharmacy and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff on all aspects throughout of the pharmacy.
What you’ll do at work
- Support the safe ordering, receiving, storage and supply of medicines and pharmaceutical products
- Assemble, dispense and issue prescribed items accurately
- Check prescriptions for validity, safety and clarity, escalating concerns where needed
- Carry out pharmaceutical calculations to support safe medicine supply
- Maintain accurate records and follow pharmacy procedures and confidentiality requirements
- Provide clear, person-centred advice to patients, carers and healthcare professionals
- Support patients to use their medicines safely and effectively
- Work as part of the pharmacy and wider healthcare team
- Help with day-to-day pharmacy operations, stock control and workflow
- Follow health and safety, safeguarding and governance procedures
- Report errors, near misses and concerns in line with local procedures
- Support audit, quality improvement and service development activity
- Communicate professionally with colleagues, patients and other healthcare professionals
- Take responsibility for your own learning and development
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies when required

Training schedule
Pharmacy technician (integrated) Level 3 (A level)
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. Off-the-job training will follow the time allocations outlined in the Occupational Standard.

- Receive and log prescriptions
- Assemble prescribed items, undertake an in-process accuracy check and issue prescribed items

Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade Grade C/4 or Above)
- Maths (grade Grade C/4 or Above)
- Science (grade Grade C/4 or above)
Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant in:
