We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring and passionate Early Years Apprentice to join our new nursery team. We want to create an outstanding provision which prepares our children with all the skills and knowledge they will need to be successful when they join the school.

Join Our New Nursery Team– Early Years Practitioner Wanted.
Brenzett Primary School have recently opened a brand‑new nursery and are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic Early Years Apprentice to help shape something special from the very beginning.
Ideally we are seeking a Level 2 practitioner seeking to train to a Level 3 standard in Early Years alongside an experienced and supportive team. You should be a passionate Nursery Nurse or Early Years Teaching Assistant who is committed to giving children the very best start in life.
We need an Apprentice who is self-motivated, willing to learn and flexible who will work alongside our experienced Nursery Teacher and TA. You will be willing to learn on the job and get stuck in, and should be prepared to put your learning straight into practise in our beautiful new nursery setting.
Safeguarding our children is our highest priority, so you should be firmly committed to this at all times. A kind and caring personality is also essential, and an understanding of early childhood development and learning is highly desirable.
What we’re looking for:
- A commitment to safeguarding and child wellbeing
- A strong understanding of the EYFS framework

- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A positive team player with a genuine love for early years education
- Level 2 Early Years / Childcare qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience of using Tapestry and Bromcom (Desirable – not essential)
- Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to train)

Role Description
- To create a warm, secure, and inclusive learning environment for all children
- To help Plan, deliver, and evaluate age‑appropriate activities in line with EYFS
- To support children’s emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development
- To observe, assess, and record children’s progress
- To build strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- To ensure safeguarding, health, and safety procedures are always followed
- To work collaboratively as part of a team to maintain high standards of care
- To contribute to the daily running and continuous improvement of the nursery
- To support children with their regulation and personal care
- Half an hour unpaid break at lunchtime and comfort breaks in rotation with the EYFS team
The apprentice needs a flexible attitude as part of our small team and may be expected to undertake any other duties which from time to time may be required and be relevant and commensurate with the post, as deemed necessary by the Headteacher.
The employee is expected to show a commitment to promoting the ethos and values of the school, as well as the wider trust.

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Recognise when a child or a colleague is in danger or at risk of abuse and act to protect them in line with safeguarding policy and procedure.
- Apply legislation, policy and procedure to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of children in the setting (for example, food safety, diets, starting solid food, allergies, COSHH, and accidents, injuries, and emergencies).
