Summary
Working as part of the busy HR Team, the HR Apprentice will support with the provision of proactive, professional and timely HR support and administration alongside studying towards their CIPD Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Supporting the department in its transition to digitalisation and paperless working
- Administrative support with recruitment, benefits and other employee documentation
- Responsibility for record keeping and data collation
- Ensuring data storage is maintained in accordance with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
- Providing management information to the HR team and the wider business
- Supporting the HR team in the implementation of business changes
- Attending meetings in the capacity of note taker
- Producing key HR reports through a Management Information reporting system
- Developing and maintaining good working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Assisting with Employee Experience Sessions across the Operation
- Undertake HR related projects and assignments as and when required
- Supporting with Subject Access Requests as required
- To carry out any other duties required by the business within the scope of the role

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Service Delivery: Delivers excellent customer service on a range of HR queries and requirements, providing solutions, advice and support primarily to managers. Builds managers’ expertise in HR matters, improving their ability to handle repeated situations themselves where appropriate. Uses agreed systems and processes to deliver service to customers. Takes the initiative to meet agreed individual and team KPIs in line with company policy, values, standards. Plans and organises their work, often without direct supervision, to meet commitments and KPIs.
- Problem Solving: Uses sound questioning and active listening skills to understand requirements and establish root causes before developing HR solutions. Takes ownership through to resolution, escalating complex situations as appropriate.
- Communication & Interpersonal: Deals effectively with customers/colleagues, using sound interpersonal skills and communicating well through a range of media eg phone, face to face, email, internet. Adapts their style to their audience. Builds trust and sound relationships with customers. Handles conflict and sensitive HR situations professionally and confidentially.
- Teamwork: Consistently supports colleagues /collaborates within the team and HR to achieve results. Builds/maintains strong working relationships with others in the team and across HR where necessary.
- Process Improvement: Identifies opportunities to improve HR performance and service; acts on them within the authority of their role. Supports implementation of HR changes/projects with the business.
- Managing HR Information: Maintains required HR records as part of services delivered. Prepares reports and management information from HR data, with interpretation as required.
- Personal Development: Keeps up to date with business changes and HR legal/policy/process changes relevant to their role. Seeks feedback and acts on it to improve their performance and overall capability.
Training schedule
Upon successful completion, the Apprentice will achieve their CIPD Level 3 HR Support qualification. This qualification will take approximately 16 months to achieve, and will be delivered via blended learning.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 2)
- Maths (grade 2)

Other requirements
In order to work in our organisation, you will need to be able to be vetted to BS7858 standard. This includes:
- Proof of ID (passport)
- Proof of Right to Work in the UK (via a share code if applicable)
- Proof of address x 2 (originals, not older than 3 months)
- Proof of N.I. (P45, P60 or HMRC Letter only)
- Ability to provide references for the last five years (school/educational establishment references will be acceptable)
- Able to satisfy the requirements of a Counter Terrorism Check and a Criminal Records Check
