Summary
Anthony Gell School is seeking an Apprentice Teaching Assistant to support students with additional needs. Working under the guidance of class teachers and the SENDCO, you will help students learn independently and in groups. Support may be provided 1:1, in small groups, or within the classroom.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
The apprenticeship role involves the following:
- Liaising effectively with colleagues, managers, students and parents/carers.
- Be an effective mentor and role model for students.
- To promote high expectations of students with learning, development and behaviour.
- To support students and their integration to classroom. environments; supporting their access to the curriculum.
- To facilitate and support groups of students in Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 (Year 7 to 13).
- Contribute to the management of transition arrangements for students.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:

- Mathematics (grade C/4 or above)

Anthony Gell School is a very successful, inclusive, 11-18 school situated in the Derbyshire Dales within the market town of Wirksworth. The school takes its name from a 16th Century benefactor who helped first establish the school in 1576.
