Summary

We're looking for a confident, enthusiastic person with a genuine interest in cars, sales and social media. Learn professional marketing skills through an apprenticeship while gaining hands-on experience in a busy car dealership. What you'll do at work

Marketing

  • Create engaging photos and videos of our cars
  • Produce content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and other channels
  • Create short-form videos and walkarounds of vehicles
  • Write engaging vehicle descriptions and social-media posts
  • Promote new stock and special campaigns
  • Help manage our social-media presence
  • Support website content and basic SEO activity
  • Help develop email marketing and customer campaigns
  • Monitor which marketing activity generates enquiries
  • Research competitors and local market trends
  • Help promote our vehicle purchasing service
  • Build campaigns designed to generate both car-buying and car-selling enquiries
  • Help increase our online reviews and customer engagement

Sales

  • Respond to customer enquiries
  • Speak to customers on the telephone and online
  • Understand what customers are looking for
  • Qualify potential buyers
  • Follow up enquiries and previous customers
  • Arrange showroom appointments and test drives
  • Follow up customers after appointments
  • Maintain accurate customer records
  • Help generate part-exchange and vehicle-buying opportunities

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Develop or interpret briefs for external or internal stakeholders and measure delivery in-line with the specification and agreed timelines
  • Plan and coordinate a marketing activity using marketing tactics to acquire and retain one or more customer segments using available resources.
  • Contribute to the generation of innovative and creative approaches across video, images, and other formats, both online and offline, to support campaign development.
  • Use research/survey software to gather audience insight and/or evaluation to support the project.
  • Use copywriting techniques to write persuasive text/copy to meet a communications objective ensuring it is in-line with organisational brand guidelines.
  • Build and implement multi-channel campaigns across a variety of platforms, either offline or digital media.
  • Proofread marketing copy ensuring it is accurate, persuasive and is on brand.
  • Use software to design and create marketing assets to meet the technical specification.
  • Contribute to the research of external suppliers to support recommendations and procurement of marketing goods and services.
  • Organise offline and digital assets ensuring they are co-ordinated and legally compliant.
  • Use a content management system to publish text, images, and video/animated content.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets to support marketing activities such as project/budget planning and organisation of marketing assets.
  • Use technology and software packages to support day to day activities, e.g., stakeholder communications, development of briefs, data analysis, report writing, presentations and project management.
  • Identify and use data and technologies to achieve marketing objectives.
  • Monitor and amend campaigns to meet budget requirements including time and monetary costs.
  • Review campaigns regularly to ensure effectiveness, to optimise the results.
  • Measure and evaluate campaign delivery to identify areas for improvement.
  • Use data analysis tools to record, interpret and analyse customer or campaign data.

Training schedule

Training will be delivered face to face at Whyy? Change who are based at New York Stadium, Rotherham.

The sessions will be weekly in a small group with Marketing knowledge and skills developed over 3 structured modules.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4 or above)
  • Maths (grade 4 or above)

About this employer

The Motorworks is an independent used-car business in Rotherham, selling quality pre-owned vehicles from around £3,000 to £30,000.

We're a small, ambitious team and we're looking for someone who wants to learn how a real automotive business works from the ground up.

This isn't a traditional office-based marketing apprenticeship.

You'll be working directly with our sales team, our customers and our vehicles, learning how marketing creates enquiries, how enquiries become appointments, and how appointments become car sales.
