Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes to company standards and portion specifications
- Ensure food is stored correctly to maintain quality and minimise waste
- Assist with processing food orders and stock management
- Receive, check, and store deliveries appropriately
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness across kitchen and food preparation areas
- Operate kitchen machinery and equipment safely and correctly
- Adhere to all food safety, food hygiene, and health and safety procedures
- Support the wider kitchen team with day-to-day operations and service delivery
- Complete food safety checks and always comply with food information regulations
- Undertake additional duties as required to support an efficient catering service

- Prepares, cooks, and finishes sauces.
- Prepares, cooks and finishes pureed and cream soup and stock based dishes.
- Prepares and cooks noodles, and fresh or convenience pasta.
