Summary

We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic and reliable apprentice to join our Bilingual Montessori Home Nursery. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and would like to build a career in Early Years while completing a recognised qualification.

Wage

£15,392 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

You will work alongside experienced Early Years practitioner's while completing your Level 3 qualification. 

Your role will include: 

  • Supporting children's learning and development in line with the EYFS 
  • Building warm and positive relationships with the children 
  • Planning and taking part in activities based on children's individual interests and development 
  • Supporting children's communication, independence and social 
    development 
  • Taking part in outdoor activities and regular outings 
  • Supporting mealtimes and everyday routines 
  • Helping to maintain a safe, stimulating and welcoming environment 
  • Developing positive relationships with parents and families 
  • Completing the learning and training required for your Level 3 
    apprenticeship

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Recognise when a child or a colleague is in danger or at risk of abuse and act to protect them in line with safeguarding policy and procedure.
  • Apply legislation, policy and procedure to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of children in the setting (for example, food safety, diets, starting solid food, allergies, COSHH, and accidents, injuries, and emergencies).
  • Apply the principles of risk assessment and risk management within documentation and practice.
  • Teach children to develop skills to manage risk and maintain their own and others safety.
  • Use a range of communication methods, including technology, with other professionals to meet the individual needs of the child.
  • Develop and maintain effective professional, collaborative relationships with others involved in the education and care of the child.
  • Undertake the role and responsibilities of key person.
  • Recognise and apply theories of attachment to develop effective relationships with children.
  • Provide sensitive and respectful personal care for children from birth to 5 years.

About this employer

We set up a beautiful Bilingual Montessori Home Nursery. We have a spacious area downstairs equipped with child-sized furniture, well-arranged Montessori materials, and high-quality toys. All these toys and materials cover the seven areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). These resources help children develop fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, language, math, literacy, and more. At the same time, they encourage children to be confident and independent.

I bring a wealth of experience and expertise to my role as a childminder. Over the past eight years, I have worked as a nursery teacher, nurturing and educating young children in their crucial early years. My commitment to early childhood education is backed by a Master's degree in Pre-school Education, which has provided me with a deep understanding of child development, educational psychology, and effective teaching strategies. In addition, I completed Montessori Diploma Course with the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) in London. This prestigious training has equipped me with specialized skills to create a stimulating and supportive learning environment based on the Montessori principles of independence, hands-on learning, and respect for a child’s natural psychological, physical, and social development.

We tailor the environment to meet each child's needs, regularly rotating materials and toys. Children are encouraged to independently choose their activities. Our teachers observe the children, creating plans to introduce new challenges gradually to support their development. We share daily observations with parents weekly and provide children's reports twice a year. Additionally, we hold an annual parents' meeting to discuss your child's development and how to support them at home.

Our large, enclosed garden is filled with outdoor toys and activities that children love, such as riding bikes, tricycles, planting, and sensory play.

We also offer a bilingual environment in English and Mandarin, giving children a strong foundation in both languages. Research shows that bilingual education can enhance communication skills, improve cognitive development, and provide cultural awareness and sensitivity. Being exposed to multiple languages from a young age can lead to better problem-solving skills, creativity, and multitasking abilities. Children in bilingual environments often show greater flexibility in thinking and a better ability to focus and switch attention between tasks.
