Summary

We are a family-run, purpose-built recreational gymnastics facility in Guildford seeking an Apprentice Gymnastics Coach to join our team. Learn how to safely coach gymnastics to our members from toddlers to teenagers and be competent in helping in our administration / reception office.

Wage

£17,000 a year

Salary with be reviewed on successful completion of the Apprenticeship.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

As a Sports Coach Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced gymnastics coaches to support the planning, delivery and evaluation of high-quality gymnastics sessions. You will gradually develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to become an effective sports coach capable of leading sessions independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the delivery of gymnastics classes for children and young people of varying ages and abilities
  • Support the planning and preparation of engaging, safe and inclusive coaching sessions
  • Help monitor and evaluate participant progress
  • Encourage participation, confidence and enjoyment in sport and physical activity
  • Ensure all activities are delivered in line with safeguarding, health and safety, and gymnastics governing body requirements
  • Support holiday courses, events, workshops and birthday parties
  • Build positive relationships with gymnasts, parents, colleagues and visitors
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe and organised training environment
  • Complete all apprenticeship coursework and attend training sessions with the apprenticeship provider
  • Participate in team meetings, staff training and continuing professional development opportunities

GCSE in:
