Summary

Join MHA as an Accounts Junior Apprentice, working with businesses across a range of industries to prepare accounts, support tax and compliance work and build your understanding of how businesses operate. You’ll gain hands-on experience while studying towards AAT Levels 3 and 4 and ACA Level 7 qualifications.

Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm. Our flexible working policy gives you greater choice over how you structure your day. With core hours of 10am–2pm, you can start earlier or finish later to suit your needs, alongside working from home up to two days a week.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

You’ll work with a wide range of businesses, helping prepare accounts, supporting corporation tax and compliance work, and working with financial information from source documents through to final accounts. You’ll build relationships with clients, use accounting technology and, as your experience grows, gain exposure to management accounts and wider advisory work to help clients understand their finances and support future growth.

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Build trusted and sustainable relationships with individuals and organisations. Consistently support individuals and collaborate to achieve results as part of a team.
  • Influence the impact of business decisions on relevant and affected communities based on an appreciation of different organisations and the environments in which they operate.
  • Communicate in a clear, articulate and appropriate manner.  Adapt communications to suit different  situations, individuals or teams.
  • Identify ethical dilemmas, understand the implications and behave appropriately. Understand their legal responsibilities, both within the letter and the spirit of the law, as well as be aware of the procedures for reporting concerns over potentially unethical activities.
  • Take ownership of allocated projects and effectively manage their own time and the time of others.  Demonstrate good project management skills to deliver high quality work within the appropriate timeline. Act as a role model and motivate others to deliver results.
  • Evaluate information quickly and draw accurate conclusions. Assess a problem from multiple angles  to ensure all relevant issues are considered. Gather the appropriate facts and evidence in order to make decisions effectively.

Training schedule

You’ll train through a combination of structured study, hands-on client work and support from experienced colleagues. You’ll build your skills by working on real accounts assignments while studying towards AAT Levels 3 and 4, followed by ACA Level 7. MHA provides full study support, including tuition, exam fees, study materials and dedicated study leave, alongside regular mentoring and practical on-the-job guidance.
