Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Client Onboarding & Compliance Administration:

  • Manage client onboarding activities, ensuring accurate collection, verification and maintenance of client information and records
  • Conduct client conflict checks and support the onboarding journey from initial instruction through to file opening
  • Maintain high standards of data accuracy, record keeping, data hygiene and file management

Anti-Money Laundering (AML) & Risk Assessment:

  • Support Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Client (KYC) processes, including identity verification and due diligence checks
  • Review and analyse client screening reports, identifying potential risks, sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEPs) and other compliance concerns
  • Assist with client and matter risk assessments, investigating source of funds information and escalating higher-risk matters where appropriate
  • Contribute to ensuring compliance with money laundering regulations and internal risk management procedures

Compliance Monitoring & Advisory Support:

  • Support the Compliance team in promoting adherence to regulatory requirements and firm-wide compliance standard
  • Assist with matters relating to Solicitors’ Accounts Rules, helping ensure client monies are handled appropriately and compliantly
  • Respond to routine compliance enquiries and provide administrative support to fee earners and operational teams

Reporting, Analysis & Continuous Improvement:

  • Produce and maintain compliance reports, management information and monitoring data
  • Analyse compliance trends and data to support audits, risk monitoring and process improvements
  • Assist in developing guidance materials, procedural documentation and compliance training

  • Take a systematic approach to data curation and apply data quality controls to ensure the correct use of data-driven findings.
  • Identify patterns and trends in compliance issues.
  • Promote the importance of compliance and their organisation’s role in supporting compliance.
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders and tailor their approach to the needs and circumstances of those they interact with.
  • Communicate with stakeholders including businesses, individuals and regulators.
  • Use digital technologies to manage, share and store information and to communicate with others.
  • Follow and apply equity, diversity and inclusion rules and procedures when making evidence-based decisions and interacting with stakeholders.
  • Use workload management techniques to plan, organise and prioritise own tasks and manage time effectively.

Your apprenticeship will be a combination of learning on the job, eight study modules and two assessments which you will have three months to complete.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • 5 other subjects (grade 4/C or above)
