To support the Finance Team whilst working towards a recognised accounting qualification. The Finance Apprentice will gain practical experience across a range of financial processes, developing finance and accounting skills while contributing to the efficient operation of the department.

What you'll do at work
Principal Accountabilities
Finance and Payroll systems, processes and procedures
Duties
- Assist with the timely and accurate production of cash requirements for HTS (Property & Environment) Ltd
- Maintain cashbooks and financial records
- Assist with the preparation of weekly payments
- Maintain general ledgers: Purchase ledger and Sales ledger
- Support the monthly finance processes to ensure accurate and timely period-end close
- Learn how to prepare journal entries and perform profit and loss and balance sheet analysis
- Maintain weekly and monthly costing information. Analysing data to review trends
- Learn and assist with balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with analysis of WIP, debt and cash positions
- Support payroll administration activities
- Assist with investigating and resolving finance queries
- Undertake a variety of finance and administrative tasks within a busy finance department
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Data Protection requirements at all times
General
- Participate in the performance and development review process and take responsibility for learning and apprenticeship studies.
- Comply with health and safety responsibilities in the workplace.
- Ensure duties are carried out in accordance with HTS policies and procedures.
- Provide flexibility across the Finance Department and undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the line manager.

- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience, and different media methods, with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
