Summary

Undertake a Housing & Property Management Assistant Apprenticeship while providing administrative support to help create and sustain successful tenancies, delivering excellent customer service and developing the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed for a career in housing management.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Undertake a structured Housing & Property Management Assistant Apprenticeship programme and complete all required learning, training activities and assessments.
  • Provide administrative support to the Housing Management team, maintaining accurate records and updating housing management systems.
  • Assist with the creation and sustainment of successful tenancies, supporting a range of housing management activities.
  • Respond to customer enquiries, complaints and service requests, delivering a professional and customer-focused service.
  • Support customer engagement activities, including surveys, consultations and feedback exercises to help improve services.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with housing legislation, Council policies, data protection requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Develop knowledge of housing management functions including lettings, allocations, tenancy sustainment, homelessness prevention, repairs, income collection and community engagement.
  • Support vulnerable customers by signposting or referring them to appropriate internal services and partner agencies under supervision.
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives through data analysis, feedback gathering and performance monitoring activities.
  • Work in accordance with the Council's equality, diversity, safeguarding, customer care and health and safety policies.

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Customer Service: Apply a range of customer service skills in order to provide a professional, accurate, timely, ethical and non-judgemental front line service which meets the needs of a diverse range of customers and stakeholders
  • Communication: Demonstrate appropriate communication skills to enable timely identification and/or resolution of issues for customers and appropriate signposting to other colleagues and/or partner agencies.
  • Collaborative working: Work collaboratively with colleagues and partners to achieve individual, team and business targets.
  • Respond to vulnerability: Use skill and judgment to understand the needs of vulnerable individuals and groups(including those with complex needs) and respond appropriately
  • Information collection and sharing: Use a variety of methods to identify, collect and communicate technical and other information in a confident and effective manner.
  • Influencing and negotiating skills: Influence and negotiate with customers, partners and suppliers.
  • Self Management: Organise and plan their own work to ensure tasks are completed and deadlines met.
  • Problem Solving: Use a problem solving and flexible approach in their day to day duties.
  • Tools and Equipment: Effective use of IT equipment and software, through administration and the appropriate use of work equipment
  • Decision making: Effective decision making in order to apply the businesses objectives and priorities.

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4/C)
  • Maths (grade 4/C)
