Summary

You will support the sales team in a customer focused role, talking to customers with regards to any items for recycling, liaising with IT departments within businesses. This role is a great step into sales and will include a large aspect of tele-sales. You will deliver a positive customer services experience and building long term relationships.

Wage

£16,640 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Tele-sales including cold calling and other customer service elements focusing on understanding and identifying business needs
  • You will work with the business to move the process through, eventually leading to full account management and keeping the database up to date with new leads and working with current accounts for future business opportunities
  • You will be responsible for maintaining a data-base and data cleansing as required
  • You will work with the sales team to identify new opportunities for business
  • Working within the sales and business development team, you will be responsible for making calls to organisations to identify whether they have any IT related items for recycling

  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications; and/or
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
  • Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
  • Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate patience and calmness.
  • Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
  • Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
  • Maintain informative communication during service recovery.

Training schedule

  • Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship standard
  • Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of Work Based Assessment and day/block release.  The programme will culminate in an End Point Assessment, where all the skills and knowledge gained on the apprenticeship will be formally tested.

GCSE in:

Maths and English (grade 4/C)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
