Summary

We are looking for a proactive and organised Business Development Executive to generate new customers through outbound prospecting while also providing day-to-day sales and administrative support to the business.

Alongside new business activity, the role will include general sales administration to help ensure the running of the sales.

What you'll do at work

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Make targeted outbound cold calls to prospective business customers
  • Research and identify potential customers using lead-generation sources
  • Identify relevant decisionmakers and purchasing contacts
  • Identify and re-engage dormant customers from the company’s historic database to generate new sales opportunities
  • Qualify prospects and identify genuine purchasing opportunities
  • Make appointments for sales team product specialists when required
  • Follow up prospects consistently by telephone and email
  • Prepare or coordinate quotations and follow them through
  • Complete a structured handover of successful new accounts to the Account Manager
  • Maintain accurate prospect, call and opportunity information
  • Continually build and manage a strong pipeline of new prospects

Sales & General Administration:

  • Assist with general sales and office administration as required
  • Respond to and direct incoming telephone calls and emails
  • Maintain accurate customer, prospect and contact information
  • Assist with preparing quotations, documents and customer correspondence
  • Update spreadsheets, reports and internal systems
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal departments
  • Carry out data entry and maintain accurate records
  • Assist the wider sales team with administrative tasks and follow-ups

What you'll learn

  • Review, establish, follow and or amend policies and procedures on data and information security.
  • Follow ethical, responsible and safe working practices respecting confidentiality and sensitive organisational matters.
  • Undertake analysis to identify if automation is viable. Including assessing risks such as data quality, process maturity and unintended consequences of AI automation projects, such as the impact on job roles.
  • Engage with non-technical staff to understand their roles, responsibilities, and concerns when automation solutions are proposed and implemented. Adapt approach to support workforce needs when implementing solutions that impacts the workforce.
  • Support with the introduction, adaption, and implementation of change. Contribute to constructive dialogue between leaders and employees about the adoption of AI and automation solutions.
  • Review and complete workflow and process mapping to identify problems or inefficiencies and recommend solutions including pilots, incremental changes and scaling opportunities.
  • Use automation design tools to suit the organisational context to configure, adapt and implement AI or automation solutions, such as conversational agents, text processing AI, workflow automation platforms and cloud based SaaS or PaaS.

Training schedule

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Automation Practitioner Level 4.

1-day a month in Brighton training. The remaining working on the job, applying your new skills.

Alongside your role you will complete a Level 4 AI Specialist programme learning how to use AI, automation, data and digital tools to improve campaigns, customer experiences and business processes.

GCSE in:

Maths & English (grade A*-C or 4-9)

A Level in:
