An opportunity to join Bion Electrical’s office team as an Accounts Assistant / Administrator Apprentice. The apprentice will support the day-to-day administration and finance activities of an established electrical services business, gaining practical experience while working towards the relevant apprenticeship qualification.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
As an Accounts Assistant / Administrator Apprentice, you’ll work closely with the Finance Manager in our small business, learning how the accounts and administration side of the company works.
You’ll receive training and support as you develop your skills. Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Helping with invoices, purchase orders and financial paperwork
- Entering information accurately onto company systems
- Assisting with basic bookkeeping and accounts tasks
- Keeping records and paperwork organised and up to date
- Helping with customer and supplier queries
- Using Microsoft Office and other computer systems
- Providing general administrative support
- Learning how finance and administration help the business run smoothly
This is a great opportunity for someone who is organised, reliable and keen to learn. No previous accounts experience is needed, just a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. As you gain confidence, you’ll take on more responsibility and develop skills that can help you build a long-term career in accounts and administration.

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues, such as reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience, and different media methods, with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Training schedule
- You will be required to attend The Broadway Campus, Dudley College, 1 day per week in term time only
- You will be assigned an assessor who will visit you in the workplace every 8 weeks to support you with your apprenticeship
- You will receive a Level 2 Accounts or Finance Assistant qualification upon successful completion of your apprenticeship
- In house training in the workplace will be provided on an ongoing daily basis

You will receive on-the-job training from the Finance Manager, learning how to use our systems and complete day-to-day accounts and administration tasks

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 3/D/Functional Skills Level 1)
- Maths (grade 3/D/Functional Skills Level 1)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

This is a full-time, office-based role working closely with the Finance Manager. You should be organised, reliable and comfortable working on a computer.
