Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
As an Engineering Apprentice, you'll work alongside skilled engineers to learn how to install, maintain, fault-find and repair a wide range of manufacturing equipment. You'll gain practical experience in both mechanical and electrical engineering, developing the knowledge and skills needed for a successful engineering career.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting with planned preventative maintenance on production machinery and equipment
- Supporting engineers with fault finding, repairs and breakdown response
- Learning how to safely use engineering tools, equipment and diagnostic techniques
- Helping to install and commission new machinery and equipment
- Completing engineering documentation and maintenance records accurately
- Following health and safety procedures and food safety standards at all times
- Working with the engineering team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Attending college/training as part of your apprenticeship programme and applying your learning in the workplace

Training schedule
Training will take place at REAGIT UK Ltd, C/o ATB Laurence Scott, Hardy Road, Norwich, Norfolk, NR1 1JN.
As part of your 30-month apprenticeship with REAGIT, you will begin with 20 weeks of full-time training at their centre (Monday to Friday), where you will build the core knowledge and skills required for the role through both classroom-based and practical learning.
Following this initial training period, you will attend the centre one day per week for the next 72 weeks, continuing your development through a combination of technical training, hands-on practical learning, and valuable workplace experience.

REAGIT UK Ltd is a specialist engineering training provider based in Norwich. Established in 2019, the company continues a long tradition of engineering training in the region. REAGIT focuses exclusively on engineering and technical training, with apprentices learning in well-equipped workshops that reflect real industrial environments. Front loaded training covers areas such as mechanical and electrical maintenance, welding and fabrication, machining and industrial electrical systems. REAGIT works with employers across Norfolk, East Anglia and surrounding areas, helping apprentices develop the practical skills, technical knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in technical roles.
