Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Assist with maintaining, servicing and repairing production machinery.
- Support engineers with fault finding and responding to equipment breakdowns.
- Learn preventative maintenance techniques to improve machinery performance and reliability.
- Gain experience working with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Help install, test and commission new equipment.
- Use hand and power tools safely while developing practical workshop skills, including cutting, grinding and welding.
- Complete maintenance records using the company's management system.
- Work with engineering and production teams to support efficient factory operations.
- Follow health and safety procedures and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
- Fully participate in your apprenticeship programme, attending training sessions and developing your technical skills and knowledge.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- Maths (grade 9-5)
- English (grade 9-4)

Other requirements
The manufacturing floor is noisy and slightly dusty due to the cardboard that we create, hearing protection and all other PPE will be provided.
The job is working within a factory floor, which, by the nature of the heat generated by the machines, can be warm in the hot months, however there is a heat recovery system which keeps the ambient temperature of the floor warm in winter.
We have free on-site parking and are close to bus stops, the red route (cycle route) and other amenities such as supermarkets and other shops within walking distance.
