Summary
The main responsibility of the job is to provide first and second line IT support to our London schools and central trust office. You will be based at the central trust office in Hammersmith and work alongside one other IT support engineer, Eduthing (MSP), and the Operations Manager.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
As well as the day to day support you will also be expected to be involved with project work ensuring that solutions are implemented, and project delivery dates met.
We are looking for someone that has an interest in trouble shooting to find a solution and someone who is committed.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of user devices, ensuring they are maintained and managed correctly
- Management of mobile devices via JamF
- Providing high-quality technical support, advice and guidance to staff, students and trainee teachers
- Ensuring all IT issues that can’t be resolved by the on-site IT team are escalated to our MSP
- Maintenance of all virtual and physical networking infrastructure
- Ensure the ticket system is maintained and staff use the ticket system for logging IT related queries
- Provisioning of IT accounts for staff and pupils
- Maintaining all computer, AV, and other tech equipment across the schools
- Administration of the Office365 tenancy
- Make suggestions for improvements to the infrastructure and day to day practices
- Maintaining and updating the asset registers
- Creating documentation and ensuring IT SharePoint areas are well maintained
- Holiday checks on classroom equipment and other supporting technology equipment / infrastructure
- Support the aims, values, mission, and ethos of the school and participate in a team approach to all aspects of school life
- Ensuring that any impact on teaching and learning is dealt with immediately
- Communication with key stakeholders and IT manager
- Attend and contribute to staff meetings as required and identify areas of personal practice and experience to develop
- Being available to resolve other technical issues as directed by the IT Manager

- Carry out routine maintenance across systems, (such as IT, Communications), ensuring organisational compliance at all times
- Apply the necessary security, in line with access and/or encryption requirements
- Use a range of Cabling or Connectors equipment in line with technical requirements for example physically or remotely
- Test and evaluate network environments
- Monitor performance and usage of a network
- Deploy applications on a network
- Set up storage and data access for staff
- Apply necessary security measures, in line with access requirements to a network
- Carry out routine maintenance across network systems, ensuring organisational compliance
- Monitor network-related workloads including DNS and firewalls
- Install or undertake basic upgrades, either physically or remotely
- Establish digital communication or telecommunications systems through, for example cabling and connecting equipment.
- Identify a range of tools and or diagnostic equipment, for example, Hardware or Software components, to resolve Communications or Telecommunications requirements.
- Undertake basic telecommunications activities, in response to an allocated task, designated responsibilities, instructions or customer’s requirements.

Training schedule
The classroom training for the Information Communications Technician comprises of 4 modules. The apprentice will attend the training in an online classroom with their designated JBC trainer.
The modules taught are:
- Network Fundamentals
- Mobility and Operating Systems
- Cloud Fundamentals
- IT Business Principles
Each module is delivered remotely over five consecutive days, with the training weeks scheduled at intervals throughout the apprenticeship.

- Some of your working hours will be spent training or studying with your appointed JBC Trainer/Mentor or your employer, learning the skills you need to be successful in the role and complete the apprenticeship
- You will have a progress review with your trainer and line manager every three months, along with regular support sessions to help you develop your portfolio

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
