We are looking for a motivated individual to join our growing construction team as a Apprentice Quantity Surveyor. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build a long term career in the industry while gaining a fully funded Level 4 Quantity Surveying qualification.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
What you’ll be doing:
- Assisting with cost estimation, budgeting, and tender preparation
- Supporting site teams with measurements and valuations
- Helping manage subcontractor quotes and procurement
- Learning to monitor project costs and financial reporting
- Preparing Applications for payment (with oversight)
- Help procurement of materials for site

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Health and Safety: Apply health and safety issues to all activities.
- Sustainability: Demonstrate application of the principles of sustainability.
- Construction Technology: Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects
- Contracts: Be able to apply different types of contracts to different situations.
- Procurement: Assist in the selection of and negotiation with specialist contractors for a construction project.
- Cost control: Assist in the measurement and costing of construction works during a project.
- Financial reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, cash flow and cost forecasts for a construction project.
- Administration: Assist in the collection, collation and storage of relevant data and its analysis.
Training schedule
As part of your Apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto a nationally recognised Level 4 Quantity Surveying Technician standard via our training partner, Learning Skills Partnership. Your Apprenticeship typically takes 21 months to complete and is fully supported through a combination of regular online lessons, e-learning materials, and access to their team of experts for 1-2-1 advice and support.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- Maths (grade 4/C)
- English (grade 4/C)
A Level in:

About this employer
We are a small business, which has four separate divisions. Diamond Drilling, Demolition, Enabling and Groundworks and Civils. All staff work across all areas of the business. We have 5 office staff, based in Rayleigh with parking. We are a small friendly team.
